Expressed

Dear Friend,

The power of our mind and thoughts expressed through chanting “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo” create the realm we abide in as the environment supporting us.

Nichiren Daishonin writes: “From this single element of mind spring all the
various lands and environmental conditions. The sacred teachings of the Buddha’s lifetime are devoted to explaining this principle. These are what is known as the storehouse of the eighty-four thousand teachings. All these are teachings encompassed within the single entity of an individual. Hence the storehouse of the eighty-four thousand teachings represents a day-to-day record of one’s own existence. This storehouse of the eighty thousand teachings is embodied in and contained within one’s own mind. To use the mind to suppose that the Buddha or the Law or the pure land exist somewhere other than in one’s own self and to seek them elsewhere is a delusion.” [The Unanimous Declaration by the Buddhas of the Three Existences  regarding the Classification of the Teachings and Which Are to Be Abandoned and Which Upheld] WND II: 315 (p. 843) http://www.nichirenlibrary.org

Pursuing peace and security outside our own mind of chanting “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo” dismisses the beneficial Law of the Buddha nature in favor of dream realms of delusion increasing suffering.

Truly yours,

Tho Tsu 11/21/2016
