proof of the truth that ignorance and enlightenment are one in essence is found in the passage in the Lotus Sutra that reads, “These phenomena are part of an abiding Law, [and] the characteristics of the world are constantly abiding.” Great Perfection of Wisdom says, “Enlightenment and ignorance are not different things, not separate things.
